Bert Molewijk is full professor of Clinical Ethics Support and Quality of Care both at a) the Department of Ethics, Law & Humanities (ERH) at Amsterdam University Medical Centres (A UMC), and b) the Centre of Medical Ethics, University of Oslo, Norway.
In Amsterdam, he is head of the section Ethics Support & Research Integrity and member of the ERH management team. His main tasks are (supervising) (PhD) research, training and consultancy related to ethics support (e.g. moral case deliberation) and empirical ethics. His main interest is in a) developing and co-creating innovative ways for embedding integrative ethics support, and b) monitoring and fostering the contribution of ethics support to quality of care, team cooperation, moral competence and psycho-social safety. He is co-founder and has been (2005-2023) coordinator of the European Clinical Ethics Network (ECEN; www.ecennetwork.org) and the Dutch Network for Ethics Support (NEON; 2014-2023). He is currently President of the European Association of Centres for Medical Ethics (www.EACMEweb.com).
Regarding GenderInsight specifically: since 2015 he has been actively working together with both health care professionals and clients in transgender care (general ethics support, the transgender dialogues, ethics support tools, clinical ethics (support) research (e.g. see thesis Karl Gerritse & papers Laura Hartman et al & Janine de Snoo et al)).
